Getting to London City from Kent
Usual route: A2, then the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel (A102) into the Royal Docks, or round via the Dartford Crossing and the A13. The tunnels charge between £1.50 and £4 per crossing from 06:00 to 22:00 and are free overnight; Dartford has its own charge.
- London City is the nearest airport for north Kent, and the quickest by road from Dartford, Gravesend and Medway.
- It is a small airport and check-in is fast. Most passengers are through security within 20 minutes of the drop-off, so you can leave home later than you would for Heathrow.
- There is a short-stay car park directly outside the terminal for return pickups. No long walk and no shuttle bus.
